Malik al-Mulk — Master of Sovereignty: مَالِكُ الْمُلْكِ
Meaning
Owner and giver of all dominion — 3:26: "Say: O Allah, Master of sovereignty, You give sovereignty to whom You will and take it from whom You will." Kingdoms rise and fall as grants, not possessions; ballots and battles move only what He lends.
Textual references
- Qur’an 3:26
The 99-names hadith itself (Sahih al-Bukhari 2736; Sahih Muslim 2677) does not enumerate the names; the enumeration order follows the Tirmidhi listing, whose chain scholars grade as weak for the list itself.
Reflection
Watch power change hands without worshipping the hands.
A personal contemplation aid — not doctrine and not a promised outcome.
