How this Zakat calculator works
Enter the assets you hold and the calculator adds cash and bank balances, the monetary value of gold and silver, investments, and business stock. Debts and liabilities you enter are subtracted. The result is compared with the Nisab threshold you choose — 85 grams of 24k gold or 595 grams of pure silver — and, where the net total reaches it, Zakat is shown at 2.5%.
The two Nisab bases can produce different results because gold and silver prices differ. The page lets you enter a metal price manually or request a live valuation, and it shows which basis and price were used so the figure can be checked. Currency conversion is applied where the calculator supports it; exchange rates and metal prices move, so a saved result is a snapshot rather than a standing valuation.
Zakat is due once a lunar year (hawl) has passed with wealth remaining at or above Nisab, and the treatment of mixed assets, deductible debts, and business inventory can vary by school and circumstance. The Islamic calendar can convert between Gregorian and Hijri dates if you need to track that lunar anniversary. This calculator is an estimating aid for your own review. It does not issue a fatwa and cannot account for every personal or scholarly consideration; for a complex estate, consult a qualified scholar.
