Ash-Shakur — The Most Appreciative: الشَّكُورُ
Meaning
The One who rewards little deeds with multiplied recompense and overlooks deficiency — 64:17: "Allah is Appreciative, Forbearing." Human gratitude answers benefit; His "gratitude" initiates it, magnifying small obedience beyond its size.
Textual references
- Qur’an 64:17
The 99-names hadith itself (Sahih al-Bukhari 2736; Sahih Muslim 2677) does not enumerate the names; the enumeration order follows the Tirmidhi listing, whose chain scholars grade as weak for the list itself.
Reflection
No sincere small act is small to Ash-Shakur; offer it without embarrassment.
A personal contemplation aid — not doctrine and not a promised outcome.
