An-Nafi’ — The Bringer of Benefit: النَّافِعُ
Meaning
The One by whom all benefit arrives — the pair of Ad-Darr (#91), completing 6:17’s logic ("if He intends good for you, none can repel His bounty"). Means benefit only by His leave; gratitude belongs past the means to the Granter.
Textual references
No direct verse ascription for this exact name-form is established — the name is contemplated via the classical listing and related texts noted in Sources. This uncertainty is stated rather than filled.
The 99-names hadith itself (Sahih al-Bukhari 2736; Sahih Muslim 2677) does not enumerate the names; the enumeration order follows the Tirmidhi listing, whose chain scholars grade as weak for the list itself.
Reflection
Thank the means, worship the Source; benefit’s chain ends at An-Nafi.
A personal contemplation aid — not doctrine and not a promised outcome.
Sources & methodology
- Qur’an 6:17 (benefit ascribed — see methodology)
- Sahih al-Bukhari 2736 (the 99 names)
Verse citations were checked against the Qur’an text. Claims that could not be verified were omitted. No recitation counts, guaranteed effects, or per-name hadith benefits are asserted.
