Al-Qadir — The All-Capable: الْقَادِرُ
Meaning
Power to enact whatever He wills — "Allah is capable over all things" closes many verses (2:20, 2:109, and others). Against Al-Muqtadir (#70, the Prevailing Powerful) and Al-Qawiyy (#53, the Strong): Qadir stresses freedom and fitness of power; nothing He wills is difficult.
Textual references
- Qur’an 2:20
The 99-names hadith itself (Sahih al-Bukhari 2736; Sahih Muslim 2677) does not enumerate the names; the enumeration order follows the Tirmidhi listing, whose chain scholars grade as weak for the list itself.
Reflection
"Impossible" describes creatures’ ledgers, not His capability.
A personal contemplation aid — not doctrine and not a promised outcome.
