Al-Muqtadir — The All-Powerful: الْمُقْتَدِرُ
Meaning
Complete, prevailing power — 18:45: "Allah is powerful over all things," and 54:42 pairs it with might. If Al-Qadir (#69) is capability free of impediment, Al-Muqtadir is power triumphant in execution: decrees that none repel.
Textual references
- Qur’an 18:45
The 99-names hadith itself (Sahih al-Bukhari 2736; Sahih Muslim 2677) does not enumerate the names; the enumeration order follows the Tirmidhi listing, whose chain scholars grade as weak for the list itself.
Reflection
Decrees you cannot appeal elsewhere are still decrees of the Merciful.
A personal contemplation aid — not doctrine and not a promised outcome.
