Al-Matin — The Firm, the Unshakable: الْمَتِينُ
Meaning
Firmness admitting no weariness or strain — with Ar-Razzaq and "Possessor of strength" in 51:58. Creation’s upkeep costs Him nothing (cf. 2:255, "their preservation tires Him not"); Matin is that tirelessness named.
Textual references
- Qur’an 51:58
The 99-names hadith itself (Sahih al-Bukhari 2736; Sahih Muslim 2677) does not enumerate the names; the enumeration order follows the Tirmidhi listing, whose chain scholars grade as weak for the list itself.
Reflection
What exhausts every creaturely sustainer does not touch Al-Matin; rest on that.
A personal contemplation aid — not doctrine and not a promised outcome.
