Al-Fattah — The Opener, the Decisive Judge: الْفَتَّاحُ
Meaning
The One who opens what is closed — mercy, provision, hearts — and who decisively judges between disputants: 34:26 ("Our Lord will gather us together, then He will judge between us in truth, and He is the Opener, the Knowing"). Fath is both opening and verdict.
Textual references
- Qur’an 34:26
The 99-names hadith itself (Sahih al-Bukhari 2736; Sahih Muslim 2677) does not enumerate the names; the enumeration order follows the Tirmidhi listing, whose chain scholars grade as weak for the list itself.
Reflection
Closed doors have an Opener; tangled disputes have a Judge — the same name.
A personal contemplation aid — not doctrine and not a promised outcome.
