Al-Ahad — The Unique, the Indivisible: الْأَحَدُ
Meaning
Absolute uniqueness — 112:1: "Say: He is Allah, the Unique." Where Al-Wahid (#66) denies plurality of gods, Al-Ahad denies likeness, parts, or peer in every respect; 112:4 ("there is none like Him") is its guard.
Textual references
- Qur’an 112:1
The 99-names hadith itself (Sahih al-Bukhari 2736; Sahih Muslim 2677) does not enumerate the names; the enumeration order follows the Tirmidhi listing, whose chain scholars grade as weak for the list itself.
Reflection
Surah al-Ikhlas is this name’s fortress; recite it as creed, not routine.
A personal contemplation aid — not doctrine and not a promised outcome.
