Al-Wahid — The One: الْوَاحِدُ
Meaning
Singularity in lordship, worship, and perfection — 13:16: "Say: Allah is creator of all things, and He is the One, the Subduer." Against Al-Ahad (#67): Wahid stresses oneness amid multiplicity (one God among claims); Ahad, uniqueness without likeness.
Textual references
- Qur’an 13:16
The 99-names hadith itself (Sahih al-Bukhari 2736; Sahih Muslim 2677) does not enumerate the names; the enumeration order follows the Tirmidhi listing, whose chain scholars grade as weak for the list itself.
Reflection
Multiplicity of needs, singularity of address: take them all to the One.
A personal contemplation aid — not doctrine and not a promised outcome.
