Az-Zahir — The Manifest: الظَّاهِرُ
Meaning
Evident above all through signs, with nothing above Him — 57:3, glossed "You are the Manifest, and there is nothing above You" (Muslim 2713). Manifestness here is by proof and supremacy, not by physical direction or likeness.
Textual references
- Qur’an 57:3
The 99-names hadith itself (Sahih al-Bukhari 2736; Sahih Muslim 2677) does not enumerate the names; the enumeration order follows the Tirmidhi listing, whose chain scholars grade as weak for the list itself.
Reflection
Read creation as signage; the Manifest is evident, not absent.
A personal contemplation aid — not doctrine and not a promised outcome.
