Al-Wajid — The Perceiver, the Finder: الْوَاجِدُ
Meaning
The One who lacks nothing and finds whatever He wills — established via the listing; the Qur’an’s wujd-root verses (e.g. 65:6 of capacity) describe creaturely finding, not this name-form. Against Al-Ghaniyy (#88, self-sufficiency): Wajid stresses nothing escaping or eluding Him.
Textual references
No direct verse ascription for this exact name-form is established — the name is contemplated via the classical listing and related texts noted in Sources. This uncertainty is stated rather than filled.
The 99-names hadith itself (Sahih al-Bukhari 2736; Sahih Muslim 2677) does not enumerate the names; the enumeration order follows the Tirmidhi listing, whose chain scholars grade as weak for the list itself.
Reflection
What you lost is found to Him; what you seek is not hidden from Him.
A personal contemplation aid — not doctrine and not a promised outcome.
Sources & methodology
- Listing only — no direct name verse claimed (see methodology)
- Sahih al-Bukhari 2736 (the 99 names)
Verse citations were checked against the Qur’an text. Claims that could not be verified were omitted. No recitation counts, guaranteed effects, or per-name hadith benefits are asserted.
