Al-Mu’id — The Restorer, the Repeater: الْمُعِيدُ
Meaning
The One who returns creation — after origination (Al-Mubdi, #58) and at resurrection: 85:13 pairs them. Repetition here answers two doubts: that God cannot recreate, and that returns (of seasons, mercies, life) lack a Returner.
Textual references
No direct verse ascription for this exact name-form is established — the name is contemplated via the classical listing and related texts noted in Sources. This uncertainty is stated rather than filled.
The 99-names hadith itself (Sahih al-Bukhari 2736; Sahih Muslim 2677) does not enumerate the names; the enumeration order follows the Tirmidhi listing, whose chain scholars grade as weak for the list itself.
Reflection
What returns to you returns through Him; what must return (the dead) will.
A personal contemplation aid — not doctrine and not a promised outcome.
