Al-Mu’akhkhir — The Delayer: الْمُؤَخِّرُ
Meaning
The One who defers whom and what He wills — the pair of Al-Muqaddim (#71), from the same night-prayer supplication (Muslim 771). Delay here is arrangement, not neglect: deferred goods and deferred judgments alike are scheduled.
Textual references
No direct verse ascription for this exact name-form is established — the name is contemplated via the classical listing and related texts noted in Sources. This uncertainty is stated rather than filled.
The 99-names hadith itself (Sahih al-Bukhari 2736; Sahih Muslim 2677) does not enumerate the names; the enumeration order follows the Tirmidhi listing, whose chain scholars grade as weak for the list itself.
Reflection
Late by your clock is on time by His; impatience disputes the Scheduler.
A personal contemplation aid — not doctrine and not a promised outcome.
