Al-Latif — The Subtle, the Gentle: اللَّطِيفُ
Meaning
Gentleness joined to penetrating awareness — 6:103: "vision perceives Him not, but He perceives all vision; and He is the Subtle, the Aware." His kindness reaches where sight cannot: benefits arriving through means too fine to notice.
Textual references
- Qur’an 6:103
The 99-names hadith itself (Sahih al-Bukhari 2736; Sahih Muslim 2677) does not enumerate the names; the enumeration order follows the Tirmidhi listing, whose chain scholars grade as weak for the list itself.
Reflection
Trace small mercies backward; subtlety is His signature, not His absence.
A personal contemplation aid — not doctrine and not a promised outcome.
